Located in South India, Andhra Pradesh is surrounded by Tamil Nadu in the south, Maharashtra in the North and North-West. Besides, Madhya Pradesh encircles it in the North-East, Karnataka in the West, and the Bay of Bengal in the East. It has a long coastline of 1000 kms with eight of its 23 districts having direct access to the sea.

Andhra Pradesh is the third largest state in India with Hyderabad as its capital. The landscape of the state is varied having fertile coastal plains, semi arid Deccan plateau and the lofty hills capes of the Eastern Ghats. The fertile coastal plains of Andhra Pradesh make it one of the largest producers of rice in India. Thus, it is also known as the "Rice Granary of India". Apart from this, Andhra Pradesh tourism also offers the attractions of historical monuments and rich culture.

Andhra Pradesh, fifth largest state in India, is located in the southern part of the Indian subcontinent. It shares its boundaries with Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Orissa on its north, the Bay of Bengal on the east, Tamil Nadu on its south and Karnataka on the west.

The month of March announces the arrival of the summer season in the state. This hot season continues till June, with the temperature reaching a high of 42 degrees in the coastal plains. However, in the plateau region summers are cooler. Winter begins in the month of October, continuing till February. During these months, the minimum temperature records 10 degrees centigrade. July to September is the time of the monsoons. The coastal areas of the state get a good amount of rainfall.

The international airport of the state is located in Hyderabad. All the major cities of the state are well-connected by air. There are regular air services to and from Hyderabad, Vishakhapatnam, Vijay Wada and Tirupati. The excellent rail route of the state makes it possible to reach the cities of the state from other states and cities of India. The state owns a fabulous road network connecting together all the major destinations of the state and the country.

Shopping in the state of Andhra Pradesh can prove to be a whole lot of fun as there are a number of local and traditional handicrafts to get hold of. Hyderabad, however, has got the most potential in terms of shopping. This city is known for its Laad Bazaar and Pearl Bazaar where you can purchase items like jewellery, precious stones, pearls, antique Kundan ornaments, embroidered work, bidriware etc.
