Kerala, the land of mountains, rivers, lakes, backwaters, has numerous national parks and Sanctuaries. The enchanting green forest with elephants, tigers, wild dogs, sambars, gaurs, leopards, and many indigenous and water birds gives the tourist a rare sight. The Western Ghats have been closely associated with the customs, traditions and social life of Kerala for centuries and are in fact the hot spot of unique biodiversity - exquisitely rich and varied.  Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary
Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary takes you on joyful game tours in the midst of evergreen forests, shola grasslands, rolling hills, rock clusters and gurgling waterfalls.
A nature rich land that offers a natural habitat for wild animals such as the grizzly giant squirrel, gaur, elephants, sambhar, munjtac, hanuman monkey, loris, panthers, sloth bear, chital, rabbits, leopards, elephants, star tortoise and other wildlife entices you to come and unearth its wild secrets and discover its exotic fauna and flora on your Chinnar Wildlife Tour.

 Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary
Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary will bring you face to face with wild frolicking baby elephants with the older elephants keeping an eye on the naughty young ones. Watch with complete awe as the large wild elephants suck in large quantities of water at a time and bathe each other by showering this water on themselves and each other. The park experiences a pleasant climate throughout the year. During summer (March - June), the temperature varies between 21 & 24 degrees C. Winters are pleasant and cool. The months from October to June are the best time to visit the park.

 Eravikulam Wildlife Sanctuary
Wildlife tours to the Eravikulam National Park open up a secure sanctuary that protects the Nilgiri Tahr apart from a number of other wild animals. Eravikulam gained the status of a National Park in the year 1978.
The Eravikulam National Park is located on the Eravikulam Plateau that lies at an altitude of 2,000 meters above the sea level on the base of the Anaimudi Peak on the Western Ghats in Munnar, Kerala, South India. The Nilgiri Tahr or Hemitragus hylocrius is an endangered mountain goat that is a very close relative of the mountain goat found in the Himalayas. The outer skin of the Nilgiri Tahr is usually of a yellowish brown color. The young ones of the Nilgiri Tahr are grey in color and acquire the yellowish brown skin, as they grow older. The males normally have a silver saddle patch on their back and are referred to as "saddlers."

 Silent Valley National Park
Located 40 km from Mannarkkad, Silent valley is extremely fragile, a unique preserve of tropical evergreen rain forests lying above the equator and the forest strip which causes the summer rains in Kerala.

The Silent Valley National Park has an area of 90 sq km is located in the north eastern corner of the district. It rises abruptly to the Nilgiri Plateau in the north and overlooks the plains of Mannarkkad in the south.

Perhaps, nowhere else can one also find such a representative collection of peninsular mammals, over a 100 species of butterflies and 400 species of moths and other fauna like the Ceylon Frog Moth, Great Indian Hornbill, the Nilgiri Laughing Thrush and the Lion-tailed Macaque.

 Thattekad Bird Sanctuary
