Tamil Nadu is situated on the south eastern side of the Indian peninsula. It is bounded on the east by Bay of Bengal, in the south by the Indian Ocean, in the west by the states of Kerala and Karnataka and in the North by the Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The hill stations like Ooty and Kodaikanal, with their pleasant climate and rejuvenating atmosphere, offer all that you wanted to do for a long time.

 Ooty
Ooty, the Queen of Southern Hill Stations came to be known when British Collector John Sullivan stumbled upon the site. It is wonderfully set amid the Nilgiri Hills, attracting myriad of tourists and travellers from all around. Kodaikanal is the other most-frequented hill resort of the state. This idyllic hill station has a number of attractions to enjoy. As a favorite summers retreat, Ooty is the place to be at all seasons. Merely being there refreshes you. Ooty tourism offers a gamut of scenic sites and adventure-laden trips both in the township and nearby areas. You can visit a host of sites within Ooty such as Botanical garden, which has some rich flora of the region, St. Stephens church that reflects the citys long association with the British. You can also explore Government Museum to witness tribal artifacts of the region and other historical relics. Or simply sit back and reflect by the side of Ooty Lake.

 Kotagiri
In the serene setting of the Nilgiri Hills and just an hours drive from Udhagamandalam, Kotagiri is a small resort set among the lush tea estates. Retaining the essence of hill magic and charm, the resort offers year round sylvan charm. Trips to Kodanad View Point, St. Catharine Falls and Rangaswamy Pillar and Peak are worthwhile.Kotagiri is a hikers paradise, with endless trails and sufficient off beat ness. It is the third largest and the oldest hill station in the Nilgiris. Like all hill stations in India, this also has had strong presence of the British Raj. The town is fast becoming commercial, with many banks and shopping facilities coming up. It has a Kota temple in the middle of the town, even though the Kota tribes have long moved out, giving it an exotic tribal feel. Kotagiri has one of the best climates in the world.

 Coonoor Hill Station
Incredibly scenic, Coonoor is one of the famous hill Stations in South India where exquisite panoramas and vistas unfold at every turn. Perched on the lovely Nilgiri hills in the state of Tamil Nadu, this beautiful hill resort is a destination for the discerning traveler. Blessed with a milder climate, Coonoor also offers some of the finest hiking and trekking in South India, which will enable you to be closest to the rolling mountains and lush green foliage of this hill resort. The Sims Park is an important place to visit in Coonoor. Very near to the Sims Park, the Pasteur Institute came into existence in 1907.

 Velliangiri Hill Station
Velliangiri Hills count amongst the lesser-known hill stations of Tamilnadu. Of all the mountain shrines in Kongunadu, the Siva temple of Velliangiri in the western boundary is considered to be the most famous. Known as Rajathagiri, Velliangiri, Dakshin Kailash or Bhoolok Kailash, this sacred spot, according to legend, is where Siva performed his cosmic dance on the request of his consort Umadevi. The five faces of Lord Shiva, Brahma, Vishnu, Rudra, Maheshwara and Sadasiva, are seen as Panchagiri and as Panchalingas pertaining to the panchabhutas, in Velliangiri.
